Acrylamido-tertiary-butylsulfonic acid (ATBS) is a chemical compound with the molecular components C7H13NO4S. It is an acrylic monomer that carries both an acrylamide group and a sulfonic acid organization. The structure of ATBS includes a tertiary butyl organization connected to the nitrogen inside the acrylamide moiety.

Widely utilized as a co-monomer in polymerization approaches, specifically within the creation of water-soluble polymers, ATBS imparts precise hydrophilic residences to the resulting polymers. This feature unearths widespread use in water remedy programs, wherein ATBS-containing polymers make contributions to effective flocculation, coagulation, and the elimination of impurities from water sources. The hydrophilic nature of those polymers enhances their solubility in water, making them valuable in techniques aimed at improving water quality.

Our Acrylamido-tertiary-butylsulfonic acid (ATBS)  product, known for its awesome first-rate and flexibility, opens new opportunities in water treatment, more advantageous oil recovery (EOR), and polymer chemistry applications.

Features: Acrylamido-tertiary-butylsulfonic acid (ATBS)

  • Hydrophilic Powerhouse: UniVOOK Chemical’s ATBS serves as a hydrophilic wonder, making it a perfect co-monomer inside the polymerization of water-soluble polymers. This hydrophilic nature enhances the efficacy of those polymers in water treatment programs, making sure efficient flocculation and impurity removal.
  • Chemical Structure: The structure of ATBS includes an acrylamide institution (CH2=CHCONH2) mixed with a tertiary butylsulfonic acid organization (t-BuSO3H). The presence of the sulfonic acid organization imparts specific properties to the molecule.
  • Use in Polymerization: ATBS is typically used as a co-monomer in the polymerization of diverse water-soluble polymers, mainly people with applications in water remedy, more advantageous oil recovery, and the production of superabsorbent polymers.
  • Hydrophilic Properties: The sulfonic acid group in ATBS imparts hydrophilic (water-attracting) properties to the ensuing polymers, making them rather water-soluble. This characteristic is precious in applications in which water absorption or interaction is desired.
  • Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR): In the oil and fuel enterprise, polymers incorporating ATBS are used in more robust oil recuperation procedures. These polymers can improve the viscosity of water injected into oil reservoirs, enhancing the displacement of oil and growing universal recovery.
