Antioxidant 618 appears as a white waxy flake solid, also known as pentaerythritol distearyl diphosphite, or pentaerythritol distearyl diphosphite.
Production process of antioxidant 618:
1- Pentaerythritol reacts with phosphorus trichloride to produce dichloropentaerythritol diphosphite, and dichloropentaerythritol diphosphite reacts with octadecyl alcohol to produce antioxidant 618;
2- By the ester reation between pentaerythritol and triphenyl phosphite to produces intermediates, and the intermediates are transesterified with octadecanol to produce antioxidant 618.
