Gamma-aminobutyric acid, also known as GABA, is a very important inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. It is a naturally occurring non-protein amino acid that has extremely important physiological functions. It can promote brain activation, strengthen the brain and improve intelligence, anti-epileptic, promote sleep, beautify and moisturize, delay brain aging function, can supplement the body’s inhibitory neurotransmitters, and has good blood pressure lowering effects. Promote improvement and protection of kidney function. Inhibit fatty liver and obesity and activate liver function. Daily supplementation of trace amounts of gamma-aminobutyric acid is beneficial to alleviating heart and brain blood pressure, promotes the balance of amino acid metabolism in the human body, and regulates immune function.
GABA is a strong neuroinhibitory amino acid and has physiological effects of sedation, hypnosis, anticonvulsance, and lowering blood pressure. It is an inhibitory neurotransmitter (Inhibitory Neurotransmitter), which can inhibit animal activities and reduce energy consumption. Aminobutyric acid acts on the GABA receptor in animal cells. The GABA receptor is a chloride ion channel. The inhibitory or excitatory properties of GABA depend on the concentration of chloride ions inside and outside the cell membrane. After the GABA receptor is activated, chloride ions are released. The opening of the channel can increase the permeability of the cell membrane to chloride ions, allowing chloride ions to flow into the nerve cells, causing hyperpolarization of the cell membrane, inhibiting the activation of nerve cells, thereby reducing the amount of exercise of the animal.
In the animal nutrition and feed industry, gamma-aminobutyric acid is used to reduce the unconscious movement of animals and reduce energy consumption, thereby achieving the purpose of promoting growth. GABA can promote the secretion of gastric juice and growth hormone in animals, thereby increasing the growth rate; it can excite the animal’s feeding center, thereby increasing feed intake.
UniVOOK continuely to produce high quality gamma-aminobutyric acid for the world’s leading food companies and animal nutrition & feed companies, and technical grade for industries applicaiton.
